`Bonnie Cashin, hired in 1962, fused new life into the Company. She is known for her use of brass toggle hardware on Coach bags and the Coach duffle bag.
Lew Frankfort, who later became the CEO of Coach, joined the company in 1979. Frankfort is the driving force behind transformation of Coach from a meagre known leather goods manufacturer to a world renowned brand. This whole idea of affordable luxury was indeed a big deal in the industry.
Starting late 1980s, Coach initiated several expansion measures that have led to its global recognition. 1988 saw launching of men and women watches. The coach signature collection, launched in 2001, featured bold double C design to thrive on the logo mania taking over fashion industry. In 2006, Krakoff debuted the Legacy collection, which incorporated canvas and suede canvas into its collection. Krakoff also brought in bright new colors like orange, pink, and green.
